Permanent Jewelry FAQ

What makes this jewelry permanent?

Although the term “permanent jewelry” may conjure up some anxiety, it’s hardly as permanent or painful as one would expect. It just involves welding a custom fit, claspless necklace, bracelet, ring, or anklet around the appropriate part of the body. The welding process uses a special machine to zap bright flash of light which you see when the piece of jewelry is welded. Despite the flash, this doesn’t mean you’re getting zapped, and the process is completely painless! Enjoy a chain of your choice that is tailored to fit your wrist, ankle, neck, or finger, with no clasp, and requires little to no maintenance.

How long does it last?

So how permanent is a piece of forever jewelry? Really, as permanent as you’d like it to be and can last up to 5 years with proper care. Forever jewelry can easily be taken off with scissors. That isn’t the end of its lifespan though, because all forever jewelry can be rewelded and look good as new. At WINK, we offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee policy so you have peace of mind that your jewelry will look beautiful and stay that way.

What type of chains do you offer?

We have various styles and thicknesses of gold filled and .925 Sterling Silver * solid gold is available with preorder*

Will the jewelry tarnish or change color?

Our gold jewelry is 14k gold filled, which means the gold coating is over 100x thicker than gold plated. Our silver is .925 Sterling Silver which can temporarily tarnish under certain conditions but, is very easy to clean with a jewelry cloth or baking soda.

What if my jewelry breaks?

Breaks at the weld will be replaced at no cost, breaks in the chain will be charged a repair fee. This jewelry is very durable but, not indestructible.

Can I bring a friend to my appointment?

Absolutely! One appointment typically can accommodate 2 people. For groups of 3-4, two appointments will be needed. Most appointments take 20 min or so but, are booked for 30 min to allow ample time.

Can I bring a child with me?

Unfortunately, we cannot allow any children at the boutique who are not receiving a service. We have a no child policy in place due to potential exposure to hazardous items, limited lobby seating, and maintaining a relaxing atmosphere for all guests.

What is the welding policy for minors?

All minors under the age of 14, must be accompanied by an adult. We do not weld for children under the age of 10.

Will it set off Airport Metal Detectors or cause tan lines?

Rest assured that this jewelry is so dainty that it does not trigger metal detectors at TSA nor does it cause tan lines.
