BROW FAQ

1. What are the differences between brow treatments?

Micro-blading is a procedure in which organic pigment is etched into the uppermost layers of the skin to produce very realistic and hair like strokes for individuals with hair loss or bald spots within the brows. Nano Powder Brow is created using a tattoo machine which softly fills in the brows and does not produce hair strokes. Combo Brow is the mixture of both Microblading and Nano in order to create more dimension and fullness. Please refer to the Brow Treatment page for examples of all three.

2. How long do they last?

These brow treatments are considered permanent as aspects of the implant will be visible for many years to come but, the skin will begin to break down the pigment molecules within the first year.  Each individual will have varying retention. On average our guests return for a Color Boost or Touch Up every 1-3 years. Due to the nature of each individuals skin and metabolism, we cannot place a specific time frame on the longevity of the pigment in the skin.

3. Does it hurt?

Very simply, NO! We use the best topicals to help our clients feel as comfortable as possible. We apply two types of topical numbing agent that work very effectively to reduce discomfort.

4. How experienced are the technicians?

Christina, owner/trainer is a licensed tattoo artist and has been a certified micro pigmentation specialist for over 15 years with 700+ permanent procedures under her belt before deciding to learn the art of microblading. She obtained her certification for microblading in Jan of 2016 and since has had over 3000+ successful eyebrow sculpting procedures completed to date. She provides a 4 month hands-on apprenticeship program for her other licensed technicians before they are able to accept clients. Our trained and Certified artists have portfolios available online to view and well as lots of glowing reviews. We are OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Certified, fully licensed and insured as required by the State of Missouri. There are two pricing tiers that are based on experience and training levels for our technicians. Please view each artists portfolio in order to choose the right fit for you!

5. How do you determine which color to use?

The color chosen for your procedure will be the closest match to your natural eyebrow hair color in order to produce the most seamless blend.

6. What if I am a blonde?

Good question! We will determine which level of blonde you are and what your desires are for your fill in. Most blondes fill in their brows much darker in order to add definition and shape. In this instance, we will suggest tinting the blond brows on an every 4 week basis in order to blend with the pigment color or choose a color which is lighter and would blend well with the natural brow.

7. How do you determine what shape to do?

We will take many measurements based on facial structure using the “Golden Ratio” method. This is the most accurate way to create a natural yet, shapely eyebrow based on each individual’s facial structure. We will then take into consideration what shape and thickness you

have in mind. Together, we will discuss the options and decide on the final shape.

 - Do NOT drink coffee or anything with caffeine the day of procedure.

 - Do NOT take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen, omega-3, unless medically necessary, 48-72 hours prior to the procedure.

The following treatments should avoided within 2-4 weeks of the procedure:

    •    Botox or other fillers - 2 weeks

    •    Chemical Peels - 4 weeks

    •    Laser treatments - 4 weeks

12. I have had my first application and the pigment is beginning to fade out. I have patches- is

this normal?

Yes, it is 100% normal! Depending on how your skin heals, genetics, or aftercare you will experience 20-50% pigment loss on average after the first application. Between the first and second application it is completely expected that you will have to fill them in with brow powder to

get you by. That is why this is a two part process and requires a touch up application. It takes a total of  4-8 weeks for the skin to completely heal and reveal the pigment beneath. The second application allows us to darken the color as need be, add to places that didn't take as well and finalize the finished product.

13. Will I have to continue filling my brows in even after having these procedures?

The greatest thing about having Microblading or Nano Brows is that it creates a soft structure within your skin that lasts. It is meant to look soft and natural while providing shape and color. When applying a full face of makeup you may desire a more dramatic look to your brows in which case, filling them in will be necessary. You will have a beautiful guideline to follow and without makeup your brows should remain natural looking and defined.

14. I love my brows but, after the first touch-up I would like to have another application done to fill in a few little spots?

Even though our client retention and healed outcomes are typically wonderful and as expected, there are circumastances that are beyond our control and we do not guarantee retention. Skin types, products your skin is exposed to, sun, skin cell turnover rate, medications, and genetics to name a few are instances that would cause this. Getting additional touch up applications will typically remedy this. A consultation appointment may be required to determine if this is necessary.

15. Can you fix previous Microblading or Permanent Brows done elsewhere?

We have many clients that seek us out from all over requesting to have previous brow treatments done elsewhere fixed. We absolutely love to help and will determine if it is possible to remedy color, correct shape and work with what is there. In the event that we believe that we cannot improve your brows using our methods, we have partnered with Lumiere Laser Spa to have parts or all of the previous work lightened in order for us to make corrections. Please contact Cassie directly at 636. 288. 3960 to make an appointment.
